Tradition

Authors Note: This is about the theme of “The Lottery” and how tradition plays a big part of this story.
Imagine a twisted town one that has any traditions. Some of which are normal then others but then there’s one that sticks out like a sore thumb. In the story “The Lottery” there is a twisted tradition involved and that is the theme.
The theme of this story is tradition and that is because of all of the tradition that they have in the city. It may see different then what people in modern society think of when they think of a lottery. When the modern person thinks of the lottery they think of hard to win, like getting attacked by a polar bear and a brown bear in the same day, then of course the money. Well that is not the focus of this story in this story if you win the lottery you don’t win any money you win DEATH.  Then sense it’s a tradition that would break that tradition.
In the end the people of this city just do what they think is right. Although it may not be humane it is a tradition and that is how these people live.
